History was made once again on Saturday, April 26, 2025, as the Prof. Uzorma Foundation for Justice & Equity (PUFJE), under the visionary leadership of renowned academic and humanitarian, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, successfully hosted its 4th Annual Public Lecture, Founder’s Birthday Celebration, and Youth Empowerment Programme.
Held under the compelling theme “Youth Development and Nation Building,” the event recorded a resounding success, drawing thought leaders, policymakers, youth groups, and stakeholders from across Imo State and beyond.
The Chairman of the occasion, Gen. Collins Remy Ugo Ihekaire (Rtd.), in his opening remarks, lauded Prof. Uzorma for the remarkable sustainability of the Foundation’s objectives and encouraged him to continue his unwavering advocacy for justice and equity.
In his address, the founder and president of the Foundation, Prof. Protus Nathan Uzorma, expressed profound satisfaction with the notable milestones achieved since the inception of PUFJE.
A major highlight of the day was the empowerment of 1,000 Imo youths, a clear demonstration of the Foundation’s steadfast commitment to creating sustainable opportunities and fostering a just and equitable society.
Prof. Uzorma also revealed that, in its bid to promote justice and equity, the Foundation has facilitated the release of several inmates convicted of minor offences at the Owerri Correctional Facility.
He assured the audience that the Foundation remains resolute in its mission and pledged to intensify efforts to secure the freedom of more deserving inmates in the near future.
Delivering the welcome address, the National Coordinator of PUFJE, Engr. Obinna Ekwelem, vividly captured the vision and mission of the Foundation.
He emphasized its dedication to upholding justice and equity, especially for the less privileged members of society
He reiterated that PUFJE remains committed to empowering and inspiring the younger generation with strong emphasis on leadership, entrepreneurship, and civic responsibility.
The event attracted a host of distinguished personalities, including the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, who was ably represented as one of the guest speakers.
Also speaking, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, former Deputy Governor of Imo State and a respected guest, underscored the pivotal role Nigerian youths must play in the nation’s socio-economic development.
Madumere, who is widely speculated to be nursing a gubernatorial ambition ahead of 2027, highlighted the diversity of challenges facing the youths—such as unemployment and the brain drain (“Japa syndrome”)—while equally celebrating their remarkable success stories in technology, the arts, and business.
He passionately advocated for education reforms, skills acquisition programmes, youth financial empowerment, leadership inclusion, and the provision of improved technological infrastructure.
Praising the commendable efforts of the Uzorma Foundation, Madumere urged Nigerian youths to act, learn, and lead the desired change, pledging his unwavering support for youth-driven initiatives.
He further emphasized that the future of Nigeria lies in the strength, innovation, and resilience of its young generation.
Adding his voice, Dr. Chima Amadi extolled Prof. Uzorma’s patriotic spirit and relentless efforts in uplifting the nation.
He encouraged Imo youths to embrace lucrative skills, eschew political thuggery, and advance themselves through modern technology.
Dr. Amadi urged them to leverage digital innovations constructively, rather than engage in internet fraud, thereby contributing meaningfully to reshaping global society.

The vibrant empowerment programme took place at Julie’s Lounge, opposite Concord Hotel, New Owerri, Imo State, amidst an atmosphere of inspiration and hope for a better future.

Each of them extolled Prof. Uzorma for his unwavering commitment to justice and equity.
The grand ceremony concluded with a resounding vote of thanks delivered by Sir Prof. Preye Inokoba, Head of the Department of Political Science, Niger Delta University (NDU), Wilberforce Island, Bayelsa State.
Prof. Inokoba prayed for divine wisdom and strength for Prof. Uzorma to continue salvaging society through his impactful foundation and expressed deep appreciation to all dignitaries and participants for their support of the noble cause.
The event indeed left a lasting impression on all attendees and set an even higher benchmark for future initiatives of the Prof. Uzorma Foundation for Justice & Equity.
